Key questions shareholders should ask

  1. What were the results of the contaminated land assessment that ARM was required to carry out after illegally dumping slag in a valley outside the boundary of the Cato Ridge Facility?
  2. Has ARM submitted the results of the contaminated land assessment to the MEC or the Minister of Environmental Affairs, as required by the National Environmental Management: Waste Act? If not, why not? If it has, has the Minister or MEC determined what remediation measures must be carried out?
  3. What is ARM’s assessment of the costs involved in rehabilitating this contaminated site?
  4. Have any of ARM’s operations been inspected by the DEA, DWS, DMR, and/or provincial or municipal authorities for air quality, water and/or environmental compliance in the past financial year?  If so, what were the findings of those inspections?
  5. Have any of ARM’s operations been issued with any warning letters, pre-compliance notices, compliance notices, pre-directives or directives in terms of NEMA in the past financial year?
  6. Have any of ARM’s operations been issued with any warning letters, notices, pre-directives or directives in terms of the NWA in the past financial year?
