Key questions shareholders should ask

  1. What is the current status of Northam’s application for postponement of compliance with the minimum emission standards in relation to SO2 emissions at the Zondereinde Smelter Plant?
  2. The minimum emission standards came into effect in April 2015. If Northam does not have authorisation to postpone compliance, is it true therefore that the smelter is currently being operated in breach of the conditions of its existing atmospheric emission licence, and in contravention of the minimum emission standards?
  3. Have any of Northam’s operations been inspected by the DEA, DWS, DMR, and/or provincial or municipal authorities for air quality, water and/or environmental compliance in the past financial year?  If so, what were the findings of those inspections?
  4. Have any of Northam’s operations been issued with any warning letters, pre-compliance notices, compliance notices, pre-directives or directives in terms of NEMA in the past financial year?
  5. Have any of Northam’s operations been issued with any warning letters, notices, pre-directives or directives in terms of the NWA in the past financial year?
