Company overview

Sentula Mining Limited (Sentula) is a diversified mining company listed on the JSE. Sentula’s business divisions include opencast mining, overburden drilling and blasting, exploration drilling services, mobile crane hire, equipment and spares, and coal mining.1

Sentula holds a 50% shareholding in Benicon Coal Proprietary Limited, which is a 60% shareholder in Nkomati Anthracite Proprietary Limited.2

Sentula identifies itself as “one of the major suppliers of outsourced mining services in the South African coal mining industry”.3

In 2016, Sentula employed a total of 1,384 people in South Africa.4
